Happy Friday! Thank you all for those who attended our Fall conferences and our Book Fair! The Library has put on our first ever Puff Parade! Instead of decorating pumpkins like we've done in the past years, this year we have decided that our students can decorate tissue boxes with their favorite characters! We have received so many awesome boxes! Aren't our SBA students talented!?

Happy Thursday!!
Just a reminder, tonight is the final night for Fall Parent Teacher Conferences and the Book Fair!
Starting right after school at 3:30pm and goes on till 7:00pm.

‼️REMINDER SBA FAMILIES‼️
There will be NO SCHOOL October 10th, in recognition of Native American Day and Tuesday, October 11th due to teacher in-service and parent teacher conferences.

Next week is Parent Teacher conferences! Either Tuesday, October 11th, or Thursday, October 13th, parents will have the opportunity to come to school and hear about their child's progress.
During conferences will also be the Book Fair! Hosted by our SBA PTO.
Tuesday, from 12-7pm and Thursday, from 3:30-7pm.
Come check out what cool books we have for your child to enjoy!

Hello SBA families!
This week, we have started the Eagle Way tickets! We have retired our Success Matters slips for a new and improved way for our students showing the Eagle Way!!
Our SBA goal for our new tickets in October is 500!
If students accomplish this goal, then EVERY kid will receive a treat! Each Monday of October, 10 names will be drawn for a chance to get their name and picture in the lunchroom, as well as a Get n Go gift card!
More tickets you earn more prizes you could receive!
Eagle Way All Day, Every Day

Excuse us while we brag for a minute… Our Superintendent is pretty talented! Dr. Jane Stavem is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, trumpet player, French horn player, percussionist, xylophone player… oh, and she also plays harmonica! 😉 These talents, along with her deep love for all things Fine Arts, earned her the honor of Parade Marshal for Festival of Bands 2022! We are proud to be lead by someone who values the role extracurriculars play in “preparing each student to succeed in a changing world!”

Updated breakfast and lunch pricing, how to re-apply for free and reduced meals, who gets low fund balance notifications, and an easy and delicious snack mix recipe to try at home. It's all in the October edition of the "What's the Scoop" newsletter from our Child Nutrition Services!

Hello, and welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!!
We are very excited to have all of our students back and ready to learn!
We are working on reinforcing the EAGLE WAY ( Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and always Be Kind.) and the social skill of "accepting no".
Let's make it a great year of Learning!!

School drop-offs and pick-ups can be messy! Take your time, stay alert, and obey the rules of the road. A safe and orderly process makes the day start and end on a positive note for both students and parents!

Check out the first "What's the Scoop" newsletter for the 2022-23 school year! This month's newsletter from our Child Nutrition department includes important reminders and everything you need to know as we kick off this new school year! ---> https://www.smore.com/a35r9

The countdown is ON! We are so excited to welcome students back for another great school year! Staff have been busily preparing their classrooms, brushing up on instructional skills, and revisiting the always-important-topic of customer service! See you soon!

A new app for parents of bus-eligible students is coming soon! The FREE Stopfinder app allows parents/guardians/daycare providers to see pick-up and drop-off times, the location of the bus, and other features in a secure app. More information will be coming soon, including an invitation to set up your child's account in Stopfinder. If you are the primary household of a bus-eligible student, please check your email for more information.

What better way to start August than some "inspired" learning? SFSD staff members are sharpening their skills to help your student(s) achieve!

Keep your students fueled to learn! SFSD is no longer able to offer free meals to all students. Now is a great time to add money to their My School Bucks account. Or, for families with qualifying income, it is important to fill out the Free/Reduced Meal application!
Log on to the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus to apply! If you have questions or need help filling out the application please call 605-367-6180. We are happy to help!
Please note: if your student does not have a free/reduced lunch application on file, you will be charged full price for breakfast and lunch starting the first day of school. Thank you!
